In connection with the spread of COVID-19, the Proton Therapy Center has promptly adopted several measures and recommendations in order to protect the safety of our patients and staff. Thanks to these measures we have introduced, we have been able to continue to operate ensuring optimal continuum of care to adult and paediatric patients worldwide during the COVID-19 pandemic.
From March 13, 2021, traveling to the Czech Republic is only permitted for essential reasons. Everyone arriving from countries outside the Czech Republic, with the exception of those traveling from a country with low risk of contagion („green country“ according to the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic), must complete a form before arrival. Passengers must also undergo a test for COVID-19, according to the rules applicable to their country category regarding the risk of disease transmission.
Throughout their stay in the Czech Republic, all visitors are required to carry a confirmation of completion of the arrival form, COVID-19 test results, and a certificate issued by the Proton Therapy Center regarding travel for the purpose of treatment.
Everything depends on the extraordinary measures of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic (MZČR) and on the internal regulations of the Proton Therapy Center. At the moment, we do require all patients from abroad to undergo COVID-19 testing. Upon scheduling your consultation or other examinations, your personal coordinator will inform you about specific measures currently valid at the Proton Therapy Center.
Current information from MZČR can be found at the links below:

On these websites you can find offers from accommodation service providers in the Czech Republic. The Proton Therapy Center has no contract with any accommodation facility and cannot be held responsible for any establishment or epidemiological principles there.
Before entering the Proton Therapy Center, the patient receives an FFP2 respirator without an exhalation valve, a disposable gown, and performs proper hand disinfection. We have a dedicated staff who is in contact only with COVID-19 positive patients. The patient comes to the treatment preferentially through the entrance on the 1st floor, where a receptionist from the 2nd floor will wait for them.
We ask COVID-19 positive patients to avoid contact with staff members other than the caregivers and, if possible, patients. All medical procedures are planned for the end of working hours.
Upon request, all patients and their accompanying persons are obliged to prove they are traveling to the Czech Republic for treatment. They can do so by presenting the permit which we issue as soon as a patient‘s treatment at the Proton Therapy Center is confirmed. This permit is sent to the patient by the Client Service Department via e-mail.
